About Us

Our Credit Union was chartered February 27, 1937 with Pampa Independent School District as our sponsor. Since the early 1980’s, our field of membership has been extended to the **family members of Pampa Independent School District employees. See our Member Benefits.

Later, we added the Gray County Appraisal District, Leverich Oil and Gas, Ltd, Bourland and Leverich Supply Company L.C., Buzzard Law Firm, Windham School District – Jordan Unit, Whitney Insurance Agency, Panhandle Independent School District, Ashmore and Associates Insurance Agency, LLC, Miami Independent School District, White Deer Independent School District, and Create-a-Beat.

In 2018, we partnered with three organizations from the community to help expand our field of membership – P.A.W.S., Snack Pak 4Kids, and Wheel Times, INC.

As a Credit Union, we believe that friendly, personal service is our number one priority. Our focus is on developing a long-term relationship with our members by giving outstanding service.

Remember, Pampa Teachers Federal Credit Union’s philosophy is “People Helping People!”

**Family Members includes spouse, children, parents, and related family members.

What Is An Equal Housing Lender?

As an Equal Housing Lender, Certified Federal Credit Union does business in accordance with the Federal Fair Housing Law and Equal Credit Opportunity Act. Under this Act, financial institutions are prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, handicap or familial status. Under the Federal Fair Housing Act, it is illegal to:
  • Deny a loan for the purpose of purchasing, constructing, improving, repairing or maintaining a dwelling, or deny any loan secured by a dwelling; or
  • Discriminate in fixing the amount, interest rate, duration, application procedures or other terms or conditions of such a loan, or in appraising property
on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, handicap or familial status.

Your funds are safe at your federally insured credit union.

All credit unions provide insurance to their members from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA ), an independent agency of the federal government. This means that your money deposited in a federally insured credit union is insured up to $250,000, similar to the insurance provided by the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) to banks.

The shares in your credit union are insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), which is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government. Established by Congress in 1970 to insure member share accounts at federally insured credit unions, the NCUSIF is managed by NCUA.
